11/14/11 Bike ride

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

So, I made it back out on my bike. Weather was nice. An old friend from high school contacted me and asked if he could join. Sure. This was his 1st time out on his bike since having some knee surgery back in April or May. He had a hard time, struggled when making the ascensions under the overpasses. However, he did try. My goal was to make it to the beach, which would have been 24 miles round trip, but we only made it half way= 12.21 miles total. But, that's okay. We still got out there.

I hope to make the ride to the beach and back at least once before my kids go back to school after Thanksgiving. Fingers crossed.

YRP to Anaheim Stadium by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

So, I did it, AGAIN! I got off my duff and got back on my bike. I am exhausted. My legs wanted to fall off around mile 10. I wanted to go last week, but I only slept 3 hours AND it was a high of 100 on Thursday, when I finally had the time to go. Today, no excuses, not even the fact that I had once again slept only 3 hours.

You can click on the link above to see how I did. Have you been able to stay on track with your exercise routine? let me know.

08/25/11 Cycling

Today is day 2 of my cycling for the week. Unfortunately, it looks like that's all I'll get during the week due to my middle son's kindergaten schedule. No big, I'll find and make the time as I go.
Let me just start by saying that it was really WARM when I started cycling. UGH! From the get-go, my legs did NOT want to cooperate with me and do that thing called "work/pedal". OUCH! I tried really hard to find a pace to maintain, but my legs felt like jello. By mile 9, just after my turn around point, I wanted to fall over. I am amazed that I made it back to my car. That's how painfully sore my legs feel right now. At least I can say that I did it and I found the strength to push through and finish what I started! My body, family and my heart will thank me for my efforts.
Until next time. Stay healthy. Find the energy to push through.

08/24/11 Community jog via Couch to 5K

So I just got back from my evening jog. Yay! I did it!

Again I used the Couch to 5K app for the iPhone tonight.  I also played my Pandora stations/music while on my run.  I covered 3.26 miles in 45:51 mins and burned 313 calories.  Not bad.  All I can do at this point is get better and improve over the time.  I feel good about myself and my accomplishment.  I know that by finding/making the time to do this, I set an example for my 4 kids and I improve my overall health.

Okay, that's enough.  Need to shower. I'm drenched, it's been warm out these last few nights. Later.

Stay healthy friends.

08/23/11 YRP-HC bike ride

I did it! I worked out the timing just perfectly, even including the fact that it took me 40-45 minutes to get to my starting point. Darn 91W fwy and it's traffic! I was able to cover 19.13 miles in 1 hour 16 minutes, averaging a speed of 15.0 mph. I had some good speeds in there, but my legs are beat from the 3.44 mile jog that I ran last night. Right now, my legs are screaming profanity at me and they hurt, B A D!!!!
Enough with the complaining already. I did it! I am that much closer to getting back on track to being fit again! WooHoo!
Until next time. Stay healthy.

Eastvale Community jog 08/22/11

So, I decided I needed to get out "there" and get off my duff, no more excuses!
I downloaded the "Couch to 5k" app for my iphone and decided today was the day to start using it. It had me jog 1 min and walk 1min 30 secs, I didn't officially finish the day 1's cool down, so it didn't accept my day as complete. Dang it. So, I continued on to day 2 , or so I thought! The total time per day was to be 25 mins each day. Luckily, I had my Garmin device with me and was able to see that I ended up doing 3.44 miles in 47 minutes time with lots of walking, but NO stopping. So proud of myself. I really need to get back in shape. I have my 20 yr reunion next month AND I go back to Honolulu in December and had already bought a new bikini to wear. I NEED to fit that new bikini!!!
I plan on trying to move more. Wish me luck.
Until next time, stay healthy!

08/16/11 Bike ride YRP-HC

So today was the day I decided I HAD to get back on my bike. I'm glad I did! I was (just barely) able to cycle 16.75 miles in 1hour and 6 minutes. I ended up burning 502 calories, which is better than nothing at all.
Yesterday my (now) 5 yr old started Kindergarten and he only goes until 11:55am, not very late all and my 9 yr old started 4th grade. My daughter started 7th grade last week. My 3.5 yr old gets to attend a preschool/daycare when I need it. Needless to say, this school year will be busy. Oh, did I mention that the older 3 have Tae Kwon Do 3 days/week? So, with the tight schedule I thought I would give my cycling a go and see how far I could get in the limited time alotted. I did it! As I neared my turn around point though, I made a sharp turn and caught the dirt edge... Almost took myself "out" while still attached to the bike, no good. Luckily, I was able to recover without hitting the ground. Whew! Getting back to my car was harder than I thought it would be, I was just as exhausted as if I had cycled 46 miles (to and from the beach). I was so glad to make it back to my car, unscathed.
Needless to say, I am truly tired and am looking forward to bedtime tonight. I am exhausted, but in a good way.
Oh. I should add. Yesterday I tried out the "Gold's Gym Cardio Workout" for Wii. It's a boxing game. I thought it was a bit slow, but let me tell you, after all the different routines I ended up doing, I "threw" 1,030 punches and my upper body is HELLA sore. OUCH!!!!!!!! (Lifting my bike in & out of my car was torture.)
Until next time. Take care and be healthy.

07/27/11 Bike ride w/my munchkins

Blogging has not been easy these last couple of days. Darn Blogger's been on the fritz again. Arg!
Last week we didn't do any cycling as my older 2 were prepping for a Tae Kwon Do test. They were "belting up" to yellow belt. They only started TKD classes 5 weeks ago and the facility had testing the 1st weekend we were there, so we did not get to participate then. My older 2 were invited to test, my 3rs child didn't, he has a hard time focusing on the instructions (he wants to play instead), so maybe in the near future he'll be able to test. Both my daughter and my oldest son passed their tests. They even had the opportunity to kick/break boards, they brought their boards home. My daughter, being an amazon, had to break 2 boards, and she succeeded on her very 1st try! Yay!
On this past Tuesday (07/26/11) they received their certificates and their yellow belts. So awesome!
On Wednesday, 07/27/11, I made the older 2 join me for a bike ride. My daughter has been begging me to take her on this ride for weeks, ever since I mentioned it. (weather was just a bit too warm for us to do it, especially since it's not near the ocean.) We rode from Yorba Regional Park to Honda Center, or at least a mile within the HC. Our total riding distance ended up being about 15.2 miles, but because I forgot to turn on my Garmin device right away, we didn't record the whole ride. We were quite slow since my 9 y/o son wanted to just cruise through the ride, which took up a lot of our time. My kids were just starting to complain of their legs hurting within that last mile back to the car, but they made it! To top it off, after being home for only 40 minutes, I made them change clothes and took them back to TKD for their 3rd lesson of the week. I thought they'd be exhausted for bedtime, but not so much! LOL!
Well, hopefully next week we'll be able to get in our 2 rides. They go back to school soon, so I should be able to get in some exercise 4 times/week,maybe even 5 if I'm lucky.
Until next time.

07/14/11 Bike ride w/kids

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

My kids are on Summer break. This means they are home, also no time for true exercising and more time to hang at home and MUNCH. ARG! I've packed on some pounds, no bueno!

Today, after my daughter's ortho appointment we drove out to the beach after dropping off my monkeys at the daycare. We rode fom my usual spot out to HB just past the dog beach and then returned to the car. We totaled 13.3 miles. Yay! Afterwards, I bought the kids some Carl's Jr chicken wraps because they were hungry.

On this past Tuesday, I also made the older cycle with me and we rode out to Balboa past the Ruby's Diner on the pier, just to where the sidewalk ends. The kids had a chance to go run in the sand while I answered a phone call. We ended up riding 12.35 miles on that day. I'm very proud of them. I know it's tough to get out there and move that much when all you want to do is be sedentary. But they did it with little to no complaining.

Our goal is to cycle 10+ miles/day at least twice a week, maybe even 3xs/week. I want healthy, fit kids. I don't want unhealthy statistics living under my roof. It may sound harsh, but honestly, think about it. Most of the young kids you see today have guts resembling that of a 6-month pregnant woman, but theirs jiggles and shouldn't be on a 6-10 year old child. Get out there and move. Do it for their health if not yours.

06/20/11 Community am jog

06/20/11Eastvale Early am jog at Garmin Connect - Details

So last night I made the decision to go back in the swing of things. I decided I would get up before all my kids, so this means before 8:00, 7:00 in some cases. So, I woke up at 5:30am and contemplated my "go get 'em" feeling. I followed thru on my conviction and got out of bed. I jogged as best I could considering it's been a while since I last jogged. Not too bad. My knees are a bit sore, but at least they didn't feel like popping off this time around. Whew! I made it back in less than an hour, in one piece and can now continue with my day. 3.05 miles and 268 calories burned.

06/04/11 Back Bay bike ride

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

So, today's ride was an incomplete bike ride to the beach.

I have a "Rule of 3's". 3 bad things happen in one event, I need to stop & pull out.
#1- While airing my tires, my bike fell and I got knocked in the head by my handlebars. Strike.
#2- I hit a detour along the SART that lead me through the "hood" of Santa Ana. Not good since I was dressed "lightly". Signs were a little misleading so I started to freak and almost got lost. Strike.
#3- While riding the streets, I had to manuver around debris in the gutter... In doing so, my tire got caught along part of the asphalt (raised) ridge and I started to lose control and my bike started leaning into the street. I almost didn't get my foot out of the clip in time, but I did just before it was too late. However, a car was coming from behind me, freaked and wailed on his horn.. Yah, that's helpful, thanks! Strike.

I tried riding on, but my front tire (the one that got caught in the street) started acting a bit wobbly, so I decided to throw the towel in and turn around.

I made it back to my car with no further incidences, but man oh man, I just don't like having those kind of things happen in the beginning of my ride. Bad luck.

Stats- 13.54 miles in less than an hour and burned 426 calories. At least I got out there and tried.

06/26/11 Community am jog

Yesterday, I decided I needed to move. I had been feeling quite lazy and it's showing. I ended up doing: 10 sets of 10 of different upper arm exercises with our new Bowflex handweights, 5 sets of 20 sit ups, 3 sets of 20 side leg lifts and 5 sets of 20 squats. I felt good.

This morning I awoke after 5 hours of sleep (4:00am). After tossing and turning till 5:45, I decided to get up. However, my youngest decided to do the same thing. I was able to get him situated in the toddler bed set up in our room and he fell back asleep. Yes, my chance to dress and sneak out the door for a quick run. I was able to cover 2.55 miles in a total of 44 minutes (I had to stop a lot, my legs were quite sore from all the squats yesterday). My moving time is quite impressive (to me, anyway), only 28 minutes. Holy Cow! How did that happen?

Anyway. Now, I've showered, started a large load of laundry, brewed a pot of coffee (going to need it to stay awake today), made some juice for the kids to drink today and am now chilling with my youngest 2. It's only 8:55am now.

Have a great day!

04/27/11 jog in HB via SART

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

So, as of last night, I hadn't decided where I was going to jog. At least I had narrowed down my exercise down to jogging. Once I got up today and checked the hourly report, I decided to head out to HB for a jog in sunny SoCal. Here, where I live, it was expected to get to 90 and I didn't want to jog in that kind of heat with NO breeze. So, the beach it was. Of course my monkeys were ecstatic because this meant they could go play video games at the childcare facility I use out there. Off we went.

Good think we have a "FASTPASS" and I had the monkeys. Traffic was bad, but on the FastLanes, it was a breeze. We were at the daycare within 30 minutes even with traffic heading towards the beach, with us. After dropping off the boys, I drove to my favorite spot so I could get my jog on. Right after I got my shoes on and turned on my HRM/timer, my phone rang. This is not a bad thing. My good friend who is expecting her 4th child had called to chat and I was more than happy to catch up. After about 40 minutes of chatting we disconnected. About 2 mins before hanging up, I had jumped out of my car to get a move on. I started with a nice/semi-fast walk to warm up (my HRM showed 3.5mph at that time). After my warm-up, I set my phone radio and took off. Just like on Monday, I jogged towards the beach and tried to use the distance markers as points that I should either target or pass. (Most of them ended up being my targets.) My thighs were burning and wasn't sure if I could even make it the 1st mile, it hurt bad! For my last run, I made it to the 3rd concrete platform (normally there are public restrooms on these platforms, but this one is empty), but today I NEEDED to stop at the 1st platform-my bladder was full. (Sorry if that's TMI for you.) I then filled up my water bottle and decided that instead of continuuing on, I would go down the one side of the jetty towards the beach. Well, that didn't give me very much distance. So after coming back up, I went down the other side, basically tracing the mouth of the jetty. I had just reached over 2 miles by the time I got back to the trail, so I headed back to my car. Once I got to 3.64miles (I looked), I noticed my car wasn't very far, heck, I KNOW it wasn't almost 1/2 mile away. Darn! So, I dropped off my water bottle at my car and decided to run around the Carl's Jr/Mobil Gas Station parking lot. After my 1st loop I checked my stats, darn- 3.89 miles. I did another lap, but cut through the parking lot because I thought it would be enough. WRONG! 3.98 miles by the time I got to the gas station doorway. Ugh, really?! I used the restroom bought a beverage (iced tea) and then bolted for my car. Yes! 4.02 miles in all! Whew. That's 8 miles this week so far!

My legs are sore, as expected. However, I started to develop a blister on my right foot, so for the last half mile my foot slowly started hurting more and more. Not sure why, I may have tightened my shoes too much. No matter. All is good. It feels good to get back on a routine again. I need to stay motivated and keep moving before my rear expands all over again.

Until next time... Be safe and be healthy.

04/25/11 walk/jog in HB

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

So today's schedule was a little different...Hubby needed to fly out of OC airport so I decided to leave the monkeys at the childcare place out there and go for a jog/walk. I started just 1.2 miles from the beach and work my way over as far as I could. I made it 2.0 miles before I just NEEDED to head back. My lower right back and right knee were "complaining" pretty bad, but I wanted a nice round number. I made it back in one piece, but I did have to stop a lot to rest my knee (mostly). I ended up doing 4.02 miles in 48:32 minutes, not too bad considering it's been quite awhile since I last jogged. I also ended up burning 381 calories-I'd say that's a pretty good start to this week. Now, if I can just keep it up.

Later.

04/21/11 Short ride_HCto GC and back by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

As my title states, this was definitely a short ride and very disappointing. It was NOT my day to ride. The results were pathetic. Not really worth posting, but I wanted to show that YES I did attempt to go out for a ride. I was using my friend Mel's bike, but the maintenance has been poor and the gears were slipping on me (more than once) to the point that I felt that I was not safe riding the bike. Oh well. I'll get back on my bike in a few days.

Happy Easter this weekend! We will be celebrating Easter, my oldest son's 9th Birthday and my 12th Wedding Anniversary. (Needless to say, I've been hella busy in my litchen this past week.)

Take care.

04/11/11 Ride with my hubby

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

So these past 2 weeks were spent relaxing with all 4 of my kids. The older 2 were on Spring Break and I decided to keep the little ones home with us. We also had "Flat Courtney" for that time frame so we made sure to do some things with her for my niece Courtney's project for school. We went to the beach, and got sunburned. We walked 3 miles to and from the beach- I carried my 3 year old both ways because his lil flip flops wouldn't stay on. We did a LOT of baking- homemade mexican sweet breads called "Conchas" 3 times, fresh pop tarts, and cake balls. All tasty, but I used my willpower and didn't over-induldge, just tried to ensure the flavors and quality. I swear! We also drove to meet my friend Kelly out in Irvine one day for a playdate at a park out there, I took my neighbor's girls with us so their mom could have a break. We didn't travel anywhere far- we wanted to visit my mom in Northern NV, but the weather was being very unpredictable, oh well, maybe next time.

Anyway. This past Saturday was my youngest child's 3rd Birthday. We had a party to go to for a nephew's 1st Birthday that day so we didn't really celebrate on HIS Birthday. However, after the nephew's party, we visited my good friend Kelly at her workplace and had dinner to celebrate. I reminded Kelly that Les' bday is just a couple of days away, so the staff surprised both my hubby and my son with a Birthday song and sundaes! The looks on their faces was PRICELESS! Sunday, we took the kids bowling locally using a "Groupon" deal we had purchased. (I have to say that it was a great deal. You should check their deals out. We were able to take all 6 of us bowling, with shoe rentals for 2hours for only $15. Talk about cheap entertainment!) All the kids had a blast. Afterwards, errands as usual, then dinner, then... a Birthday Cake I made & decorated for my lil guy. He loved it! (If I can ever figure out how to post pics on this blog I will post a pic of his cake. I have another blog I can post to from my phone, but it gets confusing. Arg!)

Today (Monday) it was back to the usual school schedules. After dropping off our older kids to school, we sent "Flat Courtney" enroute back to North Carolina and then dropped my monkeys off at their daycare early. Les and I drove out to the Honda Center in Anaheim to start our ride. (We were originally going to start from the Yorba Regional Park, glad we didn't, my knee-caps want to fall off! We shaved off 16 miles total by not riding from YRP.) We ended up riding 27.32 miles with headwinds that we both felt. I was near tears by the time we got back to my car. I felt SO out of shape and in pain. We borrowed our friend Mel's bike (she has the "ram" style bars on her bike) so I could get a feel for this riding style. Let's just say, I need to ride it one more time to see if it's the kind of bike for me. We're thinking it's time for me to upgrade again so it's nice to borrow bikes and give them a test ride before making a bad purchase.

That's all for now. I need to go soak my knees in some hot water and hope they don't slide off. LOL! Take care, have a great day.

03/22/11 Coast ride w/Flat Stanley

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Last night I received a visitor- Flat Stanley came over from North Carolina, my nephew had sent him. We decided that since the weather was supposed to be nice today, we would go for a beachside ride and give him a cycling adventure. We started at "Moon Park" rode out to the Newport Jetty, about 5 miles in 21 minutes. We then proceeded to Newport Beach and Balboa Pier until the sidewalk ended. The trail was 75% covered in sand, either from the waves that came over from the Japan 03/10/11 Tsunami or the hard rainfall from yesterday. Once we hit the dead end, we turned around and rode all the way over to the Huntington Beach Pier where the Ruby's Diner is. We had to make this our final turnaround point because my legs were really sore. There were headwinds and Flat Stanley kept catching them, but not to our benefit, he wasn't being that helpful at all. We rode back to my car and called it a day. We were exhausted! We really wanted to stop at the In N Out around the corner, but we were out of time and had to get the monkeys, maybe for dinner. We rode 26.14 miles in 1h49 minutes moving time, but it actually took us 2h49mins to cycle and take all the pics needed for my nephew. We even got a couple of surfers to allow Stanley to pose on their surf boards! How nice of them, they were familiar with the Flat Stanley story.

Well, that's all for now, I need to help with homework and then off to dinner and Open House at my kids school. Later.

Beach Ride on 03/10/11

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

This week has been gorgeous! I decided to go on a bike ride at the beach today and soak up some vitamin D. Today was supposed to be around 69 degrees for a high in the Huntington Beach area. Well, it ended up being a little warmer than that after all. I rode a total 26.39 miles round trip. The headwind felt strong as soon as I got onto the SART. It was so strong that even though I wasn't going that fast, my heart was beating in the 180's 90% of the time. That was rough. Thanks to the bodyrock.tv workout routines I do from Zuzana, my thighs were burning before I could even complete the 1st mile, OUCH! I really really wanted to turn back and say "hell no, I'm not cycling today", but, I decided that I needed to get off my rear and move it. Now that I've finished my ride, I can say I'm glad I did. I would have been so mad at myself if I didn't follow through. After I brought my monkeys home and unloaded my bike, I even played catch with my youngest 2. They had a blast.

I will post my workout results from yesterday, Wednesday next. I forgot to post them here on my blog. Later, need to put my monkeys to bed right now.

03/02/11 No exercise today

Yup, you read right. I'm sore and I got no sleep last night. My 3 y/old was up constantly! So today, I'm taking it easy. I'm going to the market to get items to make a treat for my sweet hubby to have after he comes home tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

03/01/11 In-home exercises

Today, I woke up super-sore! I was in no way motivated to go cycling or jogging. Heck, getting out of bed was physically challenging! My glutes were still throbbing. (On a side note, the exercises I had done yesterday exhausted me so much, that I had a decent night of sleep!) I was planning on keeping the younger monkey with me, but he became a major booger, so I ended up going to childcare along with the older monkey. I ran a few errands. Went for my weigh-in, yay, those pesky pounds that jumped back onto me are all gone. I'm back down to 132! I treated myself to a Venti size Pike's Place coffe at the Starbuck's that was across the street. Afterwards, I went grocery shopping at Sam's club. Drove home, grabbed some paperwork and then headed off to the elementary school to register my middle son for Kindergarten. Came back, unloaded the groceries, switched out cars and then off to go get the monkeys. We then drove over to Sear's to return some items that didn't work out. Dropped off a package for my hubby at a local Staples. Then, off to wait for my older kids to get out of their school. (Yup, I drove all around 3 different towns in one day.)

Once home, I started my chores for housecleaning. Vacuumed upstair, downstairs carpet & hardwood and the stairs themselves. I then mopped the hardwood and then started dinner. While dinner was cooking, I looked on YouTube for another workout routine to try. I chose the Intense boot camp routine and burned about 310 calories. I also chose the Boot camp routine by Zuzana and did 5 of the 6 exercises she does. I modified one since I didn't have the equipment, I ended burning 305 calories. Now, let me tell you this, I can honestly say... I HATE burpees! Those suckers hurt, BAD!!!! I was so drenched from these 2 routines, I had to shower right away.

If you are looking to change up your fitness routine and have some serious endurance and willpower, check out "Bodyrock.tv" or "charliejames1975" on YouTube. Zuzana really shows you how to move and she has the body to prove it. On a few videos I've watched, she's actually had to stop & catch her breath, I'm glad they didn't edit that out & make it seem like she powers straight thru from start to finish. I watch her videos, choose the ones I want to do, write down the exercise names (so I can follow the pattern, modify any that I need to and then do it. I will say now that I am not "fit", I've lost a lot of weight, but I'm working on getting my body into shape & trying to tighten things up as best as I can.

I am in NO way affiliated with "BodyRock.tv" or with "charliejames1975", I just enjoy the workouts they were kind enough to post on YouTube.

If you get the chance to do any of her routines, let me know. I love hearing from others how their weight loss and fitness journeys are going. Good luck and until next time.

02/28/11 Indoor routine at home

Monday was a bit busy. Added to my usual routine is taking the hubby to the airport so that we have a few extra minutes together before he takes off. Since I can't cycle or jog due to the timing for the monkey's childcare, I just decided to run errands before picking them up. However, I decided to do some exercises after I got back with my boys. On YouTube, there is "bodyrock.tv" and Zazuna does these intense workouts that just work you into a serious sweat fest! I forgot to wear my HRM while doing the 1st routine ("Push Me"), but I will estimate that I burned 220 in calories. I took a break and then made dinner for the kids. While they ate, I did the "Sexy Fit Beast" routine. This time I wore my HRM and determined that I burned 245 calories in 19 minutes. This was a time-challenge. By the time I showered, my legs/glutes were sore. I took a bath later to soothe my aching muscles. As I tried to get out of the bath, I then realized that my abs were killing me too. Ouch!

It was a good workout!

Yesterday, I was NOT motivated to do any exercise. Sad, but true. So, today I decided I needed to get off my rear and get out there. After dropping my older 2 off at school, the monkeys and I headed out to the coast. I dropped them off at the hourly daycare facility and then I headed out to Fountain Valley/Costa Mesa. The park where I started is 4.7 miles from PCH. Once I got to the "jetty", I continued on to HB pier, thinking I would turn around at the end there. Once I got to the pier, I continued on, knowing that I really needed to burn some calories. I ended up turning around where the walkway ends, at "Sunset Beach". It took me 54 minutes to get to the end from the park. Yay! That's less than an hour! I stopped for about 10 minutes (I had called hubby, but had to leave a message because he didn't answer). Afterwards, I headed back. I made it back to my car in 48 minutes, that's 1 hour 42 minutes total moving time. Not too shabby.

The next couple of days are supposed to rain, so I don't know if I'll get out, but if I do, I will post. If I don't I will be doing my indoor alternative routine or some version of it.

Until next time....

Ps. My weight has been fluctuating a lot. A few weeks ago I put on 10lbs within one week. I lost a few pounds, but then put back on another 2-3. Yikes! I weighed myself today and I am now at 135, that's just 3 pounds away from my lowest weight. I have a weigh-in tomorrow, so hopefully I can drop at least one more pound to show some progress (in the right direction, not the wrong).

So today I decided to keep both my monkeys with me. I dragged them behind me on the bike trailer. We started at a park I found last year just off the SART trail just 4.7 miles from PCH. Getting started from a stopped point was ultimately the hardest thing I've done in quite a while. Apparently, my 4 y/o has definitely put on some weight since I last tried to haul him around. I hauled over 100 pounds (this includes the 2 boys, their gear/food, an iPad, and the trailer itself). We ended up only riding 11 miles round trip, but they were very painful! I ended up burning 433 calories in that amount of time, but my legs are very wobbly.

Not sure if I can do that ride again. I'm thinking that next time, I will start much closer (there won't be any hills to climb, or fall down) and then we can go further along the beach and maybe take some time to play in the sand again.

Until next time...

Alternate Workout Routine 02/17/11

Yesterday it rained for most of the day. It's expected to rain all weekend, break on Monday and then continue through Friday, last I checked. Due to the weather, I decided to keep my monkeys home with me so that I won't have to drive too much in the rain with all the other people who can't seem to drive in the rain. After dropping of the school age kids, the boys and I headed out to the weight loss center to FINALLY do a weigh-in. (A couple of weeks ago I packed on 10 pounds, I ate constantly and couldn't seem to get full.) When I weighed in though, the scale only showed a 3 pound increase. (I had lost 3 pounds after my last weigh in, but it doesn't count since it wasn't registered with them and on their scale.) So, 3 pounds up is better than 10 pounds up, I guess! Afterwards, I took the boys to the local Denny's for a late breakfast. I told myself i wouldn't eat the food knowing I had excess weight to lose, but, I ordered the "Moons Over My Hammy Omelette" anyway- blech! I felt horrible after- too greasy! Anyway, I didn't end up exercising since I was doing a lot of house-cleaning. (My vacuum ended up dying on me, it was only a 4 year old Shark Pet vacuum.) It was my "Wednesday" so I ended up heading out to a local mall and taking care of exchanges & such without having to drag the kids with me, it was nice. Afterwards, I headed to my friend's house for a quick chat, I haven't seen her in forever even though we live less than half a mile away from each other.

Today I picked up my husband mid-morning from the airport, he was able to take an early flight home. Unfortunately, today was a break in the weather, meaning it was a gorgeous day, but I didn't go cycling or jogging. However, I decided to change up my routine and workout inside. I had seen a "YouTube" video by "charliejames1975". The girl who does the workout routines is ripped, to say the least! I had watched her videp titled "Ass Busting Workout". I felt motivated, so I donned my exercise clothing and did my own version of her routine. Below I will list the different moves I did. All exercises were done in sets of 20 unless noted otherwise.

"runner's starts" (I don't know what else to call it) total of 6 sets
push ups 2 sets
standing side- crunches 6 sets
sit ups & cross sit ups, a total of 10 sets combined
high knee kicks 8 sets
punches (20 second sets) 4 sets (using handweights)
forward, side & reverse lunges: a combined total of 12 sets (using handweights)
lower ab leg lifts (holding for 5 seconds each time) 4 sets
butt- kicks 2 sets
squats 4 sets (raised arms during downward movement using 2 lb handweights)

It took me just under an hour to complete & that's with juice breaks, booty-wiping my monkeys and a phone call. I ended up burning 500 calories during this routine.

(Sidenote- I'm finishing writing this blog entry on Friday and my body has been screaming at me for the torture I put it through.) I do plan on doing this routine again as I feel that it was a good overall body workout. I'll keep you posted.

First of all, Happy Valentine's Day and President's Day. Celebrate with someone.

I tried to get out for a jog, wasn't feeling into it but continued to move. Around 1.48 miles, my knee gave out. Ouch! Made my hubby walk back the rest of the way with me. I completed 2.87 miles and ended up burning 216 calories, that's still something!

Tomorrow, I think I'll cycle. The weather is suppose to turn on us starting on Wednesday, so I may not be posting much this week. However, I will try to do videos or my Wii exercises. Take care.

Until next time.

Ps. Just an update on my weight. I have somehow packed on 6 pounds and I'm still trying to bring it down before I go in for my weigh-in this week, I'm way overdue!

Eastvale jog on 02/09/11

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are my results from my jog on Thursday evening. I really need to learn to minimize my stops, or at least keep them to 30 seconds or less. I had pains in my left side again, nothing new, but they just kept persisting so I needed to stop often to try to get them to subside.

I'd had a rough day with my youngest and it was showing. By 1pm, my husband said I looked "defeated", and I felt it. He had some work to do, but told me that around 4:00 I could go for a run. I wasn't going to hold my breath since usually, he will get extra calls or work coming in just as he is about to let me do something. However, at about 3:55, he said, go get dressed. I was stoked! I waited a few just to make sure he was able to care for our 4 kids, finally he said to go. I was outta here!

My moving time is definitely improving, but like I said before, I really need to work on minimizing/shortening my stopping times, that's what's really hurting me overall. My next 5K needs to be better than my last, and to do that, I NEED to work on my endurance. Any suggestions regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Until tomorrow...

Eastvale jog on 02/07/11

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Above are the stats of my jog today. Yay! I finally got off my rear and got back out there! Last week was a bad week for any exercise or weight loss for me. As a matter of fact, I put on almost 10 pounds last week. Really?? WTH?!?! I was starving all day, each day and practically ate everything in site, very bad! So now, I need to get back down to where I was when I last weighed in or lower before my next weigh in. I weighed in at 135, but I got as low as 132 before I ballooned back up. Gosh, this is going to be hard work, but then again, this whole journey has been. Nothing about going from 200 pounds to 132 was easy, nothing.

Today's run was pretty tough on me. Like I said earlier, I hadn't jogged in almost a week, so my legs are pretty sore. I actually tried to stretch today before my jog, something I always forget to do. My first mile was pretty good. I only stopped at the 0.33 mile point, but then was able to continue until I got to 1.07 miles. That's my longest straight yet! After that, however, I needed to stop a lot (20 minutes worth of stopping). Ugh! I hate wasting that much time to catch my breath and get over the pains. Luckily, my husband was very patient with me today. He would run ahead, but then stop and wait for me to catch up. At the end, he jogged straight for .3 miles to our house, I eventually caught up. So, my overall time was just over an hour for the 4 miles, still not too bad, I think.

Until tomorrow.

PS. I plan on jogging tomorrow with my 3 year old son in his stroller. I may be a bit slower as I have yet to try this. The stroller we have is not a jogger, but is supposed to fair well enough. I'll let you know once I've given it a go. Also, my niece is planning on giving jogging a try, so she's suppose to join me for a jaunt. We shall see!

02/01/11 Cycling with my youngest

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Above is the link to my bike ride I took today. The route is the usual, but this time, I finally got to bring my younest son with me. I changed the broken tube yesterday after taking my husband to the airport. I believe he truly enjoyed it, because he barely spoke, which is so unlike him, he is a chatterbox! We rode 16.71 miles in total and it took us 1 hr 13 minutes roundtrip, we averaged 13.7 mph. Not too shabby.

While I was loading our gear back into my car, my lil guy decided to bring his lunch items out and have a little picnic on the curb next to where we were parked. It was quite cute.

Well, that's all for now. I need to relax. My lower back is tight and I'm exhausted from that ride. Tomorrow we probably won't be doing any outdoor exercise as the winds are suppose to pick up again and will make things difficult. So we probably just chill and run a few errands.

Until next time...

01/31/11 Cycling Results

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Today I was able to get my rear on my bike. It was a rough morning to start off- my oldest son slacked off for 30 minutes, causing us to be late to pick up our carpooler. Luckily, I drive like a mad-woman and I was able to gain most of that time back. It was really chilly when I dropped off all the kids and I was tempted to come back home & crawl into my warm bed. But, I reminded myself of my goal- 10 more pounds! So, I dropped off the younger 2 and took off for my ride a little early. I decided to start at the Anaheim Honda Center, instead of ending there. I rode out to Huntington Beach and back. I rode for a total of 27.52 miles. It took me 54 minutes and 21 seconds to get to the beach, there was a slight headwind the whole way. I stopped, used the restroom messaged a few people and then jumped back onto my bike. There was a nice tailwind pushing me 95% of the way back so I gained 8 minutes. That's 1 hour 43 minutes round trip! I was pretty proud of myself once again. I burned 863 calories! The beach was absolutely beautiful when I got there, I really wanted to sit for awhile and enjoy the scenery, but duty called, I needed to get back so I could pick up my younger 2 kids. Maybe another time.

For dinner, I bought a rotisserie chicken and shredded it for Homemade Chicken Tortilla soup. I ate about 6 ounces, as usual, I'm stuffed!

Tomorrow, I'm attempting to take my youngest for a ride. I've already changed out the tube on my bike trailer and loaded everything into my mommy-van for the adventure. Wish me luck!

Eastvale jog 01/28/11- recovering from sickness

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are my jogging results from today's excursion. My numbers aren't so good today, I hit a wall with my health yesterday and I couldn't do a darn thing! But I tried, I'll explain in a moment. So as hubby and I were taking off, I felt that my legs were still a bit weak, ugh I hate that, 'cause it means I won't perform well. And this was before I could even leave my cul-de-sac! I trudged through, but my body was NOT having it! I had to keep stopping almost every 1/10th of a mile to collect myself before going on, man that sucks for me! (I was just starting to get to the point of only stopping every 0.5-1.0 miles to collect myself.) My whole body ached, especially my shoulders, neck and backs of my knees. At about 2 miles into the jog, I felt like I was going to pass out, so I stopped for a few and the feeling went away. So I continued on. Finally, at the 3.47 mile mark, I succumbed to my feeling of absolute agony. I turned off my tracking device (Garmin) and felt like puking (but I didn't). I finished the last quarter mile with a nice stride (walk) back. All I could think was, thank GOD I made it!

So, as I mentioned earlier, I was sick yesterday. I overslept, hubby had to wake me. I came downstairs & started cooking breakfast for my 4 kids. Shortly after starting, I felt dizzy, nauseated and broke out in a sweat. I quickly walked over to my sofa and laid down. My oldest son poured me a glass of OJ and I sipped it. The symptoms disappeared after 5 mins, so I went back to our morning routine (with hubby's help). I kept my 2.5 y/o with me since I had been telling him I would take him for a bike ride. We got to the park where I like to ride. I geared up as usual and tried to check the bike trailer tires, but the pump didn't seem to want to fit onto the tire valve. So, I hoped for the best and started off. I started pedaling, but I just couldn't seem to get any speed. I thought, wow, either I'm sicker than I thought, or there must be flat. Ends up being that the tire on the trailer that I didn't check was completely flat. Luckily, I had only ridden about a quarter mile, so I turned us around and headed back to my car. Unfortunately, the total distance was too much for the tire and I cracked the valve at some point. (When I filled the tire, the air would just leak out.) : ( Dang it, that means a new tube now! So we ran a couple of errands and headed back for home. By the time I got home, I was beat. I changed into regular clothes and laid down on the kids sofa. And that's where I stayed for the next 3.5 hours... My body ached so bad, I kept getting dizzy and everytime I opened my eyes- the room seemed to spin. Yuck! My hubby was nice enough to pick up some fast-food for the kids, there was enough that I was able to grab a bite too! After everyone was tucked into their beds, I went to bed. I slept 8 hours (almost straight, since I awoke a few times with sweats). Now, I am attempting to stay in recovery mode, unfortunately- the kids keep doing things to cause me to move around and clean. Arg!

Oh, I wanted to add that I weighed myself again, I know I know- don't live for the scale. However, I just wanted to say that I am now at 132 pounds! That's 2 pounds more than what I weighed at my high school graduation 20 years ago. That's a big deal to me. I'm so excited, this means I can truly start looking for a plastic surgeon. Hopefully, I can find one that isn't too expensive.

Later.

Cycling the SART YRP to River View Golf Course 01/25/11

Cycling the SART YRP to River View Golf Course 01/25/11 by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are my results from today's cycling trip along the Santa Ana River Trail from Yorba Regional Park over to River View Golf Course in Anaheim, past the Honda Center and Angel Stadium. My total distance covered was 21.38 miles and I completed that in 1 hour 20 minutes riding time. I think I stopped for no more than 5 minutes to respond to a couple of texts and to drink some water before getting back on the trail again. The winds were NOT very strong overall, but there were some bursts of wind that really worked against me. However, the winds were definitely "variable", coming from each direction one moment after the next. My legs were not in the mood to cycle and were screaming at me within 10 minutes of pedaling. Originally, I was planning on bringing my 2 year old in the bike trailer today, but I could NOT figure out how to fit the trailer into the back of my mommy van, it was too wide with my one back row seat up. However, after today's ride, I was able to dismantle a couple of pieces and get it to fit in the back. So, tomorrow's challenge for myself.... Ride my bike from YRP to the Honda Center in Anaheim with my youngest in tow. Hopefully, he will behave and he will help burn some extra calories.

Until tomorrow readers, have a good night. I will post again soon.

OH! My weight today was 136. I plan on going to the weight loss clinic in the early am for a weigh-in before taking my middle son to pre-school. Hopefully, I will see a good number.

Eastvale jog on 01/24/11

Eastvale jog on 01/24/11 by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are the results from my jog yesterday here in my community. This time, I decided to jog my 4 mile route in reverse (from finish to start). For some reason, I needed to stop about every 1/3 mile or so. I was pooped. However, I made sure to keep my stops at 1 minute or less. Heck, a couple of times I kept it to 15 seconds, forcing myself to trudge through. One really awesome thing I noticed about my results- I left and came back within 58 minutes! That's less than 1 hour for 4 miles, plus all my stops. That 58 minutes even includes a pit stop at one of the local parks to use the restroom (I had to "go" at less than 1 mile into my run). The park was 2.3 miles or so into my run. I was so proud of myself for my stats on this run *patting myself on my back*.

Saturday: no appetite. My cold completely took me down and I napped for 2 hours. I even went to bed soon after all my kids did. That's not like me at all!
Sunday: I didn't really eat because I was still getting over my cold and had no appetite. However, since I had been scrubbing my bathroom all day, hubby convinced me to get out of the house. So, we ran (not literally) over to Target and then stopped for food at Johnny Rockets. I had a "Route 66" and a side salad. (Route 66 is a hamburger w/swiss cheese and mushrooms, my favorite). I guess I was hungry, because I devoured that burger within 8 minutes, very unlike me!
Monday: only a slight appetite, but that was after my ride. I had purchased McDonald's Egg McMuffins w/sausage for my kids, but they only ate a total of the 3 from the 4 I bought. So, I had 1/2 of the last one. Yuck! Did you know that that breakfast sandwich has over 300 calories in it? I didn't know till I started reading the wrapper. That turned me off real quick! For dinner, I had made the kids chicken nachos. I made myself a very small portion. The kiddie bowl I used holds about 8 oz of food, but I had only put in 3 ounces of food. I was stuffed afterwards. Silly, I know. But, I was full. I did indulge in a little dessert from a previous dinner leftover (Mimi's Cafe) around 10:30, it was their petite Bread Pudding. I tried not to eat the whole thing, but I finished it. It was really tasty, but I'm glad it's out of my fridge and no longer calling my name to come eat it.

My weight was 136 this am. I'm progressing now that my hubby is back to travelling again. When he's home, I tend to indulge, like eating snacks or sweets, or ice cream while trying to watch a little tv with him. But, when he's not here, I don't watch tv which means no additional indulgances.

My jogging results from Friday the 21st. I was able to complete 4 miles in a little over 42 minutes of moving. I am trying really hard to increase my endurance so that I can eventually do a 10K! Unfortunately, I have been naughty about my food consumption so my weight has been teetering around 138. Boooo... I will get back and STAY on track. I have my goal and I am so close!

Eastvale jog 01/19/11

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are my results from today's 4 mile jog. I was able to get in the 1st mile with my hubby, but because I was moving a bit slow, he needed to head back and get some work done. I continued on to finish off the last 3 miles on my own. Today's weather was really nice, 70 degrees and lots of sunshine and a slight headwind halfway home. Luckily, I did not run out of water today, but that's probably because Les topped me off before he headed back home. I am thankful that he doesn't want me passing out from dehydration, he doesn't consume nearly as much water as I do when we exercise.

Well, today is my "Wednesday" so we are going to get ready for a little date night. I'm looking forward to it. Until next time...

Eastvale jog w/my hubby on 01/18/11

Eastvale jog 1st 1/2 w/Les by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

These are the results from my jog today with my hubby. I did the first 2.25 niles with my hubby. He had to get back on a conference call so he stayed home, while I came in to refill my water bottle and then headed back out for another 2.06 miles on my own. Once again the temp here in SoCal was a nice 80 degrees. I have a new tanline to add to my back, great, I look like a zebra from behind! LOL!

Since instilling our new family chore list, we have all done really well. I've been able to stay on top of my chores each day, I just need to work extra on our master bedroom, it needs a lot of work. My older 2 have griped a bit about the chores, okay- mainly my oldest son. But, the chores have been getting done as scheduled or even a day early. I'm very proud of them. Today, as the older 2 were leaving for school, I started my chore, vacuuming the upstairs & downstairs. I was able to finish that and wash all the breakfast dishes before taking my younger 2 to daycare/ preschool. I am very proud of myself. So proud, I guess, that I added that extra mile to my run today. Hahahaha! What a treat, right?

Have a beautiful day.

Here are my results from running w/my family on MLK day. It was a beautiful day here in SoCal! The weather has actually been really nice the last few days, very strange. My kids were very cooperative while we did our jog, which I appreciate. I ran out of water just 1 mile before getting home. Luckily, my hubby gave me the last of his before heading back, he took the kids back a little early so I could finish out my 3 miles. What an awesome man!

Eastvale jog 01/13/11

Eastvale jog by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are today's results from my morning jog around my community. My goal was to do 3.1 miles as usual, but I actually surprised myself by going 4.01 miles. I brought a 16 oz bottle of water with me, which barely lasted till the 3.75 mile mark. It was a lovely 70 degrees out today, weird CA weather. My exhaustion kicked in at the 3.75 mile mark (I had stopped to catch my breath), I almost fell over while taking a swig of my water. But, I managed to make it all the way back. I think what surprised me the most out of today's jog, was the fact that I actually increased my speed with each mile. I plan on running again tomorrow and I hope to match today's results.

YRP to HB & back

YRP to HB & back by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are my stats from a ride I did on Tuesday. (Sorry, I forgot to post on here.) By the time I got the the Honda Center, I was partially tired, but felt that I could keep going. So, I did. I got about another 1/2 mile from the HC and the SART underpass was flooded (thanks to all the rain that fell about 3 weeks ago). I had to backtrack and cross the streets. I finally made it out to Huntinton Beach, but I was exhausted. I had to stop quite often to catch my breath and give my poor thighs a break. Once I got to HB, I went to dismount my bike at one of the bathroom area. I pulled my left foot off the pedal with no problem, but..... I totally misjudged distance and my steering. I couldn't get my right foot off quick enough and I ended up flinging myself into the planter wall. My handlebar tip rammed me in the thigh, leaving a perfect circle. And, I landed on the edge of the planter leaving an 8" bruise across my right thigh. The bruise doesn't look nearly as bad as it feels. (The drive home was awful. My seat was pressing against my bruise.) I hung out for about 10 minutes and then started back. The whole ride back was PAINFUL! My legs were resisting every push & pull I made to get back. At about 9.5 miles back from the beach, I ran out of water. Really?! Man, I was not doing so well. I found a water fountain around the 13 mile marker, yes! I eventually made it back to my car, after 4 hours of cycling. Normally, the whole round trip takes me 3 hours, so this timing was bad, very bad.

I will need to get back on the saddle again soon.

Today was the big day. My 1st 5K ever! I completed it, in less than 40 minutes overall. I started a minute or so after the timer started, but I crossed the finish line just under 39:00 into the race itself. I feel good. No, more like proud, for finishing my first race ever. However, I was more impressed by the 3-4 year old boy running with his dad and the blind runner who were out there doing the event as well. Props to them!

That's all for now. Have a great day everyone.

Here are the results from today's jog. Unfortunately, I hit the stop button on my timer, so my 2nd mile wasn't recorded. Grrr! Anyway, it's the same route I've been using to train for the 5K this coming Saturday. Luckily, my older 2 stayed at a friend's house to play and I had already dropped off the younger 2 at the local daycare facility. It was nice to just focus on the jog at hand. It's hard to truly focus on the jog when you're worrying about 2 kids fighting, the other 2 NOT getting hit by cars, and hubby way ahead giving you that look, "come on already". I ended up stopping twice to catch my breath and I slowed down another 2 times so I could better drink my water & give my legs a little break. I can't wait to see what my time looks like once I don't have to stop!

Okay. So, I need to fess up and admit that I ate a no-no last night. It's not like me to cheat so badly, but I did. I had the Carl's Jr salad during the afternoon, as I mentioned in my previous blog, so by dinner time, I wasn't hungry. However, when 9:00 rolled around, I was starving! I ate the second half of a carnitas omelette from El Sabroso Grill, it was hella good. Apparently, I was so hungry, I devoured it within 3 minutes! LOL!!! But, after the kids went to bed, I came back downstairs to craft a little and ended up eating 1/2 a small container of Green Tea Ice Cream (no not a sorbet, like I would normally eat, but actual ice cream). So, now the scale and I are not friends, it's showing I put on 2 pounds and that makes me a little sad. I have no one to blame but myself. No one shoved that food down my throat, but me. Now, I must work that much harder to get back down and then to get to my goal. This puts me at 14 pounds away from my goal weight. These will probably be THE most difficult pounds to lose, not that this was that easy, either! But, I know I can do it. By exercising like a made woman- getting fitter & strengthening my body each day and by watching what I eat, it will happen. Plus, this blogging thing is keeping me honest with each day's activities. It's like my personally weight loss diary, but that the whole world can read about it too, not just me.

Take care everyone, and stay safe. Till tomorrow.

Where's my motivation today?

Usually, each day I wake up with an idea of what exercise I'm going to do for the day. But, not today. My hubby & I stayed up till 1:00am last night watching tv, so sleep didn't come as early as we orignally planned. Somewhere around 8:00, the monkeys kept trying to crawl into our bed, which we are trying to break them of this habit. However, since they couldn't get in our bed, that meant they were free to roam the house & create mayhem. Ugh! Luckily, our oldest son was up, so he hung out for a bit watching tv with them while i attempted to pry my eyes open. Not long after, the 2 y/old was screaming because the 4 y/old had his toy and had run upstairs to hide it. I caught himn& had him return the toy to the screaming child downstairs. Not a good way to start a morning, you think?

Anyway, thanks to this very disruptive sleep pattern in the morning, my brain was in a fog. It's a wonder I didn't tumble down the stairs since my eyes and brain were heavily fogged. However, I somehow made it down the stairs as graceful as any other day when I'm wide awake. Go figure! So I sat for a moment & tried to contemplate today's agenda... *crickets chirping at this point* It was still raining outside, so I figured my outdoor activities were out of the question. Hmm, now which video should I attempt? Kickboxing? 30-Day Shred? Zumba? As it turned out, I didn't do any of them. I got dressed in regular clothes & did some house cleaning instead, exciting, but productive nonetheless. I vacuumed my floor with my brand new DYSON DC25 Animal (ball version). Spot cleaned my carpet- the dog tagged my floor this morning. Scrubbed my guest bathroom floor (you COULD probably eat off of it, but I won't). And, scrubbed my crafting desk one more time. At this point I was starting to feel a bit grumpy, so hubby loaded the kids & me into the car. He dropped me off at the local nail place so I could get my acrylics filled and he swept the kids off to Carl's Jr. across the parking lot to feed the kids & let them play. All so I could de-stress and get some peace & quiet, if even for one hour. Ahhhh, I so needed that. Thank you Les! After I was done, I walked over to meet my brood. I loaded the kids in my mommy-van and hubby came out sporting a Carl's bag, he bought me a salad. And, knowing I am watching my calorie intake, he bought a 318 calorie salad and grabbed pico de gallo so I could use it as my dressing vs. the 150 calorie dressing that they include w/the salad. I LOVE that my hubby thinks of these things. We came home. I ate. The older 2 played outside and the younger 2 played on their LeapFrog Leapsters. All is right with my world again. Yes!

01/02/11 Jog Details

Untitled by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are the results of today's jog. It's very chilly out & expected to rain any moment now so we got in a quick jog. The monkeys were already fighting in the trailer before we could even get going, not good. But, they finally settled down after a few minutes and just stayed quiet for the majority of the trip. My left lower abdomen gave me a bit of pain for about 30% of the run so I had a hard time staying focused. Luckily, hubby sensed that I couldn't keep up so he offered to shorten our run today- I am grateful for that.

So we are back, ready to face the rest of the day. Have a safe & dry day everyone.

Eastvale jog by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Eastvale jog by lisas.lil.lam at Garmin Connect - Details

Here are my results from today's jog. I decided to start the new year with both feet on the ground running.

My family has been SO supportive of my weight loss and exercise routines. Our daughter hauls the 2 little ones in the bike trailer while our oldest son rides his bike alongside his dad. Les & Loren can go a bit faster than I can, so Lindsay stays with me so I can monitor the monkeys (little ones) and so she and I can share the water/sport bottle. I am also trying to get my older two into the habit of getting dressed each day, even if nothing is planned and to be willing to get up & move (preferably outside). I was a couch potato up until about a year ago and I don't want them to be like that, I want them to be active. I want it to be second nature for them.

So yesterday and today I got on the scale (like I do everyday, I know, bad habit) and surprisingly the scale read 137! OMG I'm so close to my goal weight now! Heck, I'm 6-7 lbs over what I graduated high school at 20 years ago! Very weird to put it in that perspective considering I've had 4 kids since high school.

Oh, I guess I could mention what I did eat last night/yesterday. I'm not much of a big eater (anymore, hello I enjoy food, that's partially why I reached 200 pounds) so some of you may scold me for not eating enough. In the morning, I had coffee w/2 sweet n low & 1oz of creamer, as well as a slice of homemade cinnamon raisin swirl bread. For lunch I had 2 oz of grilled salmon (my kids finished off the rest I had portioned for myself) as well as some water. Dinner- we went to an Indian restaurant and I ate a little Naan, paratha, lentils, garbanzo beans, chicken & rice as well as a chai tea. I was stuffed, but it was so tasty.

Anyway, that's enough blabbering for now. Thanks for reading.
